So I have sort of being trying to resist posting about new dinosaurs, people find them surprisingly regularly (there was a mini T.rex relative earlier this week in fact), they're kinda cool, but they don't often tell us very much about evolution generally. From the perspective of someone who's really interested in evolution, they seem kinda overrated...

HOWEVER, I couldn't resist with this one, especially as the science media have dubbed it 'The Chicken from Hell', and they found complete skeletons. I can attempt to legitimise my post by saying that the complete skeleton means that they can actually find out quite a lot about the evolution of this group, which may shed some light on questions in bird evolution.
