A ballistics analysis by a NASA scientist suggests that the footage of the rock could either be: (A) a small pebble from the parachute that flew past the camera at close range or (B) a genuine meteorite that flew past at a distance of 12-18m.

The fact that possibility (A) can explain the footage, and the a priori improbability of possibility (B), suggests it wasn't a meteor after all. Oh well.
