Oh those Germans, what will they think of next? They've now engineered a shoe that generates electricity from the motion of walking, eventually hoping to use this to power wearables. This is an interesting reversal of floor tile generators, which produce power when people walk on them. Even though the power produced is pretty small right now, could they get enough juice for, say, a smartphone? Anyone know the theoretical energy possible to be generated by walking?
