Whether you've seen 'Office Space' or not, we've all had those moments where we feel like we could explode, we just have to get out of the office and out of the sight of others. Back in the day it was usual to let off steam via a few swift pints at lunchtime, and it's always been the norm for the smokers to manage their stress at least several time a day at least.
Personally I have always tried to work mine out via more positive methods like the 4-7-8 breathing technique or some meditation, so I am very impressed by this kind of thinking in management. Any company that recognises happiness and well-being as crucial for business development and implements this for their staff gets my vote; add a flotation tank, a massage room and some Patagonian panpipe music and I might just come and work with you!
How do you de-stress at work when it gets too much?
"It's been a gradual process of seeing how corporate culture is adopting the wellbeing of the employee as important enough to be taken seriously," he says. "We're at that stage now where CEOs are talking about opening up to meditation. That's something we wouldn't have seen five years ago."
