So it's groundhog day! I mean election time again and so we go to put pen to paper once more to decide what the fate of our country will be.

Whatever your thoughts and beliefs, we live in a democracy and in a time of free speech, and for this reason sharing our ideals and passions in a controlled and respectful way should be, in my view, encouraged.

However we also spend a lot of time in work and you can choose your friends but you can't choose your work colleagues! So it seems to make sense that as the election draws near there should be some safe parameters around what is and isn't acceptable in the workplace. This ensures all of our employees feel safe and respected within the environment, without stifling communication and positive engagement.

Here Mark Fallon gives some pointers to what a company can do to support its employees during election time and beyond.
